I am Victoria Cañas, Diez-Caballero is a several generation family company with a tradition of excellence and an eye for the future.
Our focus on sustainability in all aspect of our winery and vineyards, will ensure we are here for many centuries to come.
Important dates in our recent history: 1979:The Diez Caballero’s winemaking story begins with our first bottled vintage, 1987:Marked an important point in Diez-Caballero ‘s history with the launch of our first Reserva, 1998:Our first exports to New York and Switzerland.
The quality of Diez-Caballero´s wines has always been based on a commitment to selecting the finest fruit. Following the formula of the traditional Bordeaux Châteaux –relatively rare in Rioja-, our wines are made exclusively from grapes grown in our own vineyards and under our control.
This requires a significant investment of time and money in vineyard management under the supervision of Antonio Diez-Caballero; but our 25ha planted with tempranillo results in a higher level of quality that clearly comes through in the final wine.
Strict pruning and respectful growing practices achieve a perfect blend at the service of our commitment to quality.

Our concrete wine tanks and the use of modern winemaking techniques help to capture the essence of our vineyard in the glass. Diez-Caballero’s goal is to harvest when the flavors have reached their peak and the tannins are at their softest.

By affection , we have been seduced by the beauty of our old winery of Elciego Primicia representing the last vestige of the rich winemaking tradition .The situation of this cellar excavated in ancient slabs of San Roque, its fretwork, and their slopes has been our challenge and our victory.
We add new buildings to our old winery with an architectural program providing a wine tasting space with a welcoming atmosphere .
